Silver 3 Reichsmark coin minted at the Berlin mint, identified by the letter “A”, commemorating the Rhine lands’ millennial celebration. The obverse presents a male figure armored with chain mail, inspired by medieval representations, holding a large shield with the imperial eagle, a composition of marked historical and commemorative character. The circular inscription refers to the festival of the Rhine lands’ millennium, evoking the cultural and historical importance of the region within Germany. The reverse shows the face value surrounded by a crown of oak leaves and acorns, a sober and elegant design typical of emissions of the Weimar Republic. The piece retains abundant original lustre on both faces, with well-defined reliefs and attractive fields showing slight surface marks and fine contact lines in keeping with high‑level conservation. A historically significant issue, representative of the period of monetary stabilization and reaffirmation of Germany’s identity in the years following World War I.
