Abbasid calligraphic ceramic bowl from the 9th century AD, a cream engobe with a Kufic inscription and green bands, diameter 19.8 cm and height 6.2 cm, in good condition with restoration, provenance France, previously in a French Islamic art collection, authentic and legally obtained.

Western Asia, Persia, ca. 9th century CE.
Epigraphic Islamic ceramic cup in cream engobe, decorated with green bands and a linear Kufic inscription.
This plate with a minimalist decoration is a fine example of Abbasid art, which produced glazed ceramics in the Islamic lands between the 9th and 13th centuries.
Near East, Abbasid dynasty, 9th century CE.
Dimensions: diameter 19.8 cm, height 6.2 cm - Good condition - Restored
Provenance: France, Etude P.C.T.
Previously: former French collection of Islamic art
