AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Artwork name: PRIMAVERA Grey

Artwork description: The luminous sculptures were designed and handcrafted entirely by the designer, sculptor and architect Andrea Olivazzo; they are always a UNIQUE PIECE. Each sculpture is hand-signed by the artist and an original Certificate of Authenticity is provided.

Materials of the artwork: The luminous sculptures are a fully Made in Italy product, entirely in aluminum (frame and decorative sheets), known for being 100% recyclable. The sculpture has been colored with a professional light gray, slightly metallic paint.

The sculptures are supplied WITHOUT THE ELECTRICAL LIGHTING PART, so that the customer can use the light source that is most convenient and congenial; it is recommended to use SLIM LED strips attached to the wall due to the limited space inside the sculpture, as it is quite thin (maximum thickness 25 cm). It is also advised to position the sculpture on the wall facing the light itself (see attached image), using appropriate nails or anchors for the weight.

Dimensions of the artwork: the measurements are indicative, since each sculpture has an irregular shape.
 Height about 60 cm.
 Width about 40 cm.
 Depth 25 cm.
 Weight 3.5 Kg.

Seller's Story

In November 2002 Andrea Olivazzo, in a gallery in central Turin, held his first solo exhibition of LUMINOUS SCULPTURES. In December 2003 GAI (Giovani Artisti Italiani) and Bjcem (International Association for the Biennale of Young Designers of Europe and the Mediterranean) selected Andrea Olivazzo together with 14 other artists to exhibit in a touring group show at several ARCI clubs in Turin. During 2002/2003 he exhibited in important design and furniture stores in Turin and Milan. In April 2004 he exhibited some luminous sculptures at the Milan International Furniture Fair. In October 2004 he staged his second solo exhibition at the Il Calamo gallery in Turin. In October 2004 he was approached by the furniture company Di Liddo e Perego of Meda (MI) to exclusively produce two models of luminous sculptures (Lanka and Fuoco) which would be included in the 2005/06 catalog of the artistic line “Modà,” advertised internationally. In November 2004 he was invited and selected by the Piedmont Region to participate – together with a group of established Piedmontese designers – in the project “Design Workshop Paris 2005.” From late 2006 he collaborated with some furniture shops in the city of Lyon (France). In 2012 he exhibited at the collective design self-produced show “Creazioni casa – tra artigianato e design” at Villa Arconati in Bollate (MI). In 2022 he exhibited his luminous sculptures titled “Le quattro stagioni” at the exhibition space “Edicola51” in central Turin. In 2024 he participated in the major collective Paratissima exhibition in Turin with some of his works. During the year, he also exhibited at the Maiocchi gallery in Milan his luminous sculpture Rampicante oro. In recent years criticism has also taken an interest in Andrea Olivazzo, dedicating a profile to him in the daily La Stampa and publishing some of his lamps in important design magazines such as Cose di Casa and AD. Since 2021 he has begun designing colored lamps using the anodization method or coloring with professional varnishes.
