Description from the seller

Egyptian Round Wedjat (Eye of Horus) Amulet
ìThird Intermediate Period to Late Period, 21st–26th Dynasty (c. 1070–525 BC)

Ancient Egyptian amulet depicting the Wedjat (Eye of Horus) within a circular frame featuring a finely scalloped outer border. The eye is rendered in raised relief with carefully carved anatomical details characteristic of Egyptian protective amulets.

Unlike the more common open-form Wedjat pendants, this example is executed in a compact circular format, giving the piece a distinctive appearance while retaining the traditional symbolism associated with protection, healing, restoration and divine safeguarding.

The amulet is pierced for suspension and was intended to be worn as a personal protective ornament. The surface displays traces of blue mineral coloration together with extensive dark mineral accretions and ancient deposits, particularly visible within recessed areas and on the reverse.

Based on its iconography, workmanship and overall typology, the piece is plausibly attributable to the Third Intermediate Period through the Late Period, the 21st–26th Dynasties (c. 1070–525 BC).

Material: Stone with blue mineral inclusions/pigmentation
Dimensions: approximately 3.0 × 2.8 cm
Condition: Good condition overall. Ancient wear, surface weathering, dark mineral encrustations and burial deposits are present throughout, especially on the reverse and within the carved details. Minor losses and abrasions consistent with age.

Provenance:
Acquired from Harmer Rooke Numismatists Ltd. in the US

A highly attractive and uncommon circular representation of the Eye of Horus, retaining significant surface character and age-related mineral deposits.
