Important antique faience money box, remarkable for its generous size and the hand-painted decoration in blue monochrome. The surface is adorned with a delicate motif blending birds, peonies, butterflies and small insects, in a decorative spirit that is both floral and naturalistic.
The piece has a strong visual presence, with a dense yet balanced decoration. Its tall form, three coin slots, and the original removable bottom make it an object that is decorative, curious, and functional.
The bottom is secured by metal staples, allowing emptying without breaking the piggy bank, an interesting detail that testifies to an old design.
