Six-piece collection in solid silver 925 with hand-chased and filial motifs, including a centerpiece bowl, a shaped square tray, an oval parade plate, a melon-shaped small dish, an antique eggs holder, and a filigree bracelet, all signed and in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Collection in 925 Silver, Repoussé and Filigree - Cella Antonio Francesco (Milan) - 1935-1944 (6 pieces)
Lot Description:
Elegant and exclusive collectible set consisting of 6 coordinated pieces in solid 925 silver (Sterling Silver). Five elements feature rich period workmanship entirely repoussé and hand-engraved with refined floral motifs, scrolls, and Baroque/Rococo details, while one piece is embellished with a fine filigree work.
The lot comprises exactly:
Large centerpiece bowl: characterized by expertly lobed rims and a rich central repoussé medallion with grapevines and grape clusters.
Shaped square tray: splendid table container adorned with floral high-relief borders.
Oval parade plate: small display tray with finely pierced edge and stylized Baroque handles.
Apple-shaped bowl: original and charming decorative container complete with knop and leaf.
Coquetier (egg cup): characterized by a clean and classic line with an elegant border incised with a cordon (torchon) motif on the top.
Rigid filigree bracelet: refined antique jewel with pierced weave and a smooth central plate, historically prepared for engraving a monogram.
Marks and Authenticity:
All objects bear the authentic 925 silver purity mark inserted in the classic oval cartouche. On the base of the egg cup the maker's mark 72 MI is clearly readable, corresponding to the famous Milanese firm Cella Antonio Francesco, officially registered in May 1935. The form of the mark, lacking the star introduced in 1968, attests to production during the Kingdom of Italy period (circa 1935-1944).
Net total weight: 290 grams (all items are solid silver, no base is filled with plaster or resin).
Condition: Structural conditions are excellent, the pieces are intact and free of dents. The objects display a partial, warm patina of natural oxidation (tendency toward golden/brown) typical of antique silver not recently polished, which enhances their historicity and the depth of the reliefs.
