Sofa - Walnut

Antique sofa in the Restoration style, carved in solid walnut. This piece, dating from the mid-19th century (circa 1830-1840), is an excellent example of the period's cabinetmaking craft.

The sofa is distinguished by its elegant and imposing sleigh-base frame, featuring curved arms and finely carved details. The woodwork is particularly refined, with diamond motifs and floral volutes adorning the arms and the front panel. The solid walnut wood presents a beautiful dark patina and a well-preserved surface, attesting to its authenticity and the quality of the materials.

The structural conditions of the piece are very good, solid and stable. The original upholstery in floral fabric, while showing signs of wear due to time, can be kept to preserve the piece's authenticity, or can be easily replaced by an expert to suit a more modern taste.
