Large Table Chest in Walnut Burl and Solid Carved Wood with Lion-Pedestals – 20th Century
Impressive and scenographic tabletop chest realized during the course of the 20th century, characterized by refined artisanal craftsmanship and a strong decorative impact. The piece stands out for its elegant structure clad in precious walnut burl with suggestive natural marquetry patterns, capable of creating continuous plays of light and depth on the surface.
The lid is enriched by a large hand-carved high-relief decoration depicting a branch with fruits and leaves, executed with remarkable attention to detail and great sculptural sensitivity. The carving, of superior quality, gives the whole piece an important presence and testifies to non-serial but artisanal craftsmanship.
