Commemorative 5 Leva coin minted in 1976 by the Peoples Republic of Bulgaria to commemorate the centenary of the April Uprising of 1876, one of the most significant events in the Bulgarian struggle for liberation from Ottoman rule. The obverse depicts a revolutionary figure holding a flag, a symbol of the insurgent movement, accompanied by the commemorative inscription and the date 1876. The design stands out for its symbolic strength and for the detailed rendering of the folds of the clothing and the patriotic attributes. The reverse shows the state coat of arms of the Peoples Republic of Bulgaria surrounded by the national legend, along with the denomination of 5 Leva and the issue date. The surfaces feature an extraordinary proof finish, with deeply mirrored fields that contrast intensely with the frosted reliefs, creating a high-quality visual effect. The condition is exceptional, with minimal defects perceptible even under magnification, fully in line with the outstanding PF68 grade. This issue is part of Bulgarias prestigious commemorative series devoted to fundamental episodes of national history and stands as a tribute to the events that contributed to the resurgence of the modern Bulgarian state.
