Commemorative 5 Leva coin minted in 1978 by the People's Republic of Bulgaria to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Peyo K. Yavorov, one of the most prominent figures of modern Bulgarian literature. The obverse features a portrait of the poet and playwright with strong expressive force, executed with realistic and meticulous modeling that highlights his facial features and introspective gaze. The composition is complemented by his name and the birth and death dates. The reverse displays the state coat of arms of the People's Republic of Bulgaria, with the heraldic lion surrounded by ears of grain and crowned by a star, accompanied by the denomination 5 Leva and the issuing date. The surfaces exhibit an extraordinary proof finish, with deeply mirrored fields creating an intense contrast with the frosted reliefs, contributing to a high visual quality. The specimen retains exceptional definition in all its details and shows minimal visible imperfections even under magnification, fully in line with the outstanding PF68 grade.
