Calor Brisamy table fan in black cast iron with four chrome blades and a waved chrome guard, circa 1935–1950, Art Deco style, metal construction, dimensions 25 × 15 × 32 cm, weight 3 kg, origin France, model Brisamy, in good working order with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
Luxurious table fan from the renowned French brand Calor, model 'Brisamy'. This model is a splendid example of industrial design from the transitional period between Art Deco and the early Mid-Century modernist style.
The fan features four beautifully streamlined, chromed blades and a unique, wavy chrome protective cap with the Calor logo prominently in the center. The heavy base and the motor housing are finished in glossy black-painted cast iron, giving the fan a solid and luxurious appearance.
A particularly historical detail: The original nameplate on the underside shows that this model was originally designed for 110 volts, but was factory-modified to 220 volts at the time (equipped with the authentic red factory sticker). This attests to the transition of the European electrical grid in the mid-20th century.
Manufacturer: Calor (Lyon, France)
Model: Brisamy
Period: About 1935 - 1950
Material: Cast iron, chrome and Bakelite
Wiring: Equipped with the original, characteristic braided fabric cable and the original Bakelite plug.
Condition: In exceptionally beautiful, glossy condition with light age-related signs of use that contribute to its character. The chrome work is very well preserved.
Operation: Functional (photographed in operation). Runs smoothly.
