A pair of gilded bronze table supports from late 19th‑century France, in the Louis XVI / Neoclassical style, each 27 cm high and 12 cm wide, with minor age‑related wear and missing upper elements.
Description from the seller
Pair of tables supports in gilded bronze with putti decoration – Louis XVI style – 19th century
Rare decorative pair of gilded bronze supports representing four finely modelled putti (cherubs) in the Louis XVI taste.
Each set consists of two figures resting on an oval base. United, the four putti join hands and form a particularly elegant and decorative composition.
The figures each bear a support intended to receive an element now absent, probably a glass tray, a table centerpiece, or an ornamental element.
French workmanship from the late 19th century, made in solid gilded bronze. The quality of casting, substantial weight and beautiful antique patina attest to careful craftsmanship.
