Splendid and monumental art bedspread (also usable as a majestic wall tapestry) in exceptionally heavy jacquard brocade fabric. The piece features a complex and fascinating Oriental-inspired iconography (Chinoiserie/Japonisme), rich in finely woven details: female figures in traditional costumes (Geishas/Dames), pavilions, bridges, flowering vases, peacocks, and lanterns, framed by significant geometric and floral borders in gold tones, amethyst purple, and lilac.
