Neoclassical marble and onyx table or mantel clock, with a central mechanical clock (8-day power reserve) signed UCRA on a gilt dial with S/F indicator, flanked by two brass-clad marble side columns, overall black marble with green and cream onyx inlays, France, 20th century, total weight 11.73 kg, dimensions 29.5 cm high by 25.5 cm wide by 11 cm deep, condition described as fairly good with possible minor losses, mechanism not tested and no winding key.
Description from the seller
Superb Neoclassical-style central table or fireplace clock from the 20th century, consisting of a central clock and its two matching side elements. The architectural whole draws inspiration from the grandeur of ancient temples and is entirely made of deep black marble, beautifully contrasted by inlays of green and cream-toned onyx marble plaques.
The central clock features an architectural façade flanked by four gilded, fluted metal columns and topped with a triangular onyx pediment. The gilded dial, signed by the famous brand "UCRA", has stylized black Arabic numerals and elaborately designed hands. It includes a fast/slow speed adjustment indicator (S/F). The original spring mechanism is visible from below and appears complete. It has not been tested and is sold without its winding key.
The two lateral columns/cases replicate the form of miniature temples housing each a bronze or patinated metal statuette representing a figure from Ancient Rome (one with a toga and parchment, the other in centurion armor with shield).
Dimensions and weights (measured accurately):
Central clock: 29.5 cm (Height) x 25.5 cm (Width) x 11 cm (Depth) | Weight: 7.3 kg
Lateral columns (each): 24 cm (Height) x 13.5 cm (Width) x 9.5 cm (Depth) | Weight: 2.23 kg and 2.20 kg
Total weight of the 3 pieces: 11.73 kg
Condition report:
The set is in overall good aesthetic condition with its original patina. Note a restoration: the upper onyx pediment of one of the two lateral columns has been reattached, leaving a visible joining mark (please refer to the detailed photos to assess the condition). It can be repaired without visible traces. The internal mechanism appears complete to the eye but has not been tested, and the key is missing; the item is thus sold as requiring servicing. The numerous photos provided are an integral part of the object’s condition description."}]}`} } }? (Oops) Wait, ensure JSON valid. I included stray punctuation at end. Let's craft clean.
