Canon EX EE Single lens reflex camera (SLR)

Canon EX EE QL + Canon Lens EX 50mm 1:1.8

A working vintage Canon SLR with its original EX 50mm f/1.8 front lens. The shutter, film advance, and manual aperture / shutter speed controls have all been confirmed to operate correctly. The camera can be used as a fully mechanical manual SLR. The built-in EE (Auto Exposure) light meter did not appear to respond during inspection — please see details below.

Appearance:
Minor scuffs and normal signs of use for a vintage camera. The chrome top plate and leatherette show only light cosmetic wear; no major dents or serious damage are visible.

Function (confirmed working):
- Shutter: fires correctly
- Film advance lever: operates
- Shutter speed dial: operates
- Rewind crank: operates
- Self-timer: present
- Quick Loading (QL) mechanism: present
- Manual aperture control: the aperture dial can be set freely from f/1.8 through f/16 — fully mechanical, no battery required
- All mechanical functions operate independently of the battery

Light meter / EE mode note:
The built-in CdS light meter, used for the EE (Auto Exposure) mode, did not appear to respond during inspection — even with a battery installed and the dial set to EE. This is a common condition for Canon EX EE cameras of this era, typically caused by age-related deterioration of the CdS meter cell.

This does not affect the camera's mechanical operation. The shutter and all camera functions work fully independently of the meter. The camera can be used in fully manual mode (with the aperture dial set to a specific f-number) using an external light meter, a smartphone light meter app, or the "Sunny 16" exposure rule. This is a true mechanical SLR — no electronics are required for taking photos.

Optical system:
The lens shows no obvious fungus, haze, separation, or major scratches in the photos. A small amount of dust may be present, but no serious defect affecting shooting is visible.

Shutter / film chamber:
The cloth focal-plane shutter curtain appears flat and free of visible holes or tears. The film chamber and pressure plate are clean overall.

Notes:
This camera uses the Canon EX front-lens system; only the front lens group is interchangeable. Please check the photos carefully for the exact condition and accessories.
