Figural mantel clock - Antique Bronze - 1800-1850

Empire or Directory period clock
French work circa 1800
In bronze, very finely sculpted and chiselled,
Gilded bronze and polished to an agate finish
The dial signed Vivin Fils at Epernay.
Surmounted by a seated female figure. On her lap sits a carrier pigeon bearing a message. A dog rests against her leg.
The base is ornamented with a bas-relief depicting a Cupid and a woman connected by a garland of flowers, one holding a bouquet of flowers and the other a wreath of flowers
The base is supported by four feet shaped like spigots.
Very good condition; the clock is delivered with its pendulum and original winding key
