Pakistani Buchara wool rug, 190 × 272 cm, beige and blue tones, wool material, generally good condition and professionally cleaned.
Description from the seller
Pakistani Buchara 190 × 272 cm – hand-woven wool rug
For sale: a beautiful Pakistani Buchara rug measuring 190 × 272 cm, made from high-quality wool.
The rug is kept in an elegant, subdued color scheme: a creamy main field contrasts with a blue-navy border and subtle accents in shades of dusty pink and graphite.
The rug looks very noble and fits perfectly in both classical and modern interiors.
Condition: good. In places, shorter pile on a beige background.
The central part of the rug features a layout of ten distinctive medallions, called gul. This is the most recognizable motif of Buchara rugs, deriving from the traditions of Turkmen peoples of Central Asia.
Guls once served as a kind of "tribal emblem" and helped identify the rug owner’s origin. In nomadic culture they symbolized:
prosperity and well-being,
protecting the home and family,
continuity of lineage and family bonds,
harmony between man and nature.
The regular arrangement of the medallions emphasizes order, balance, and stability, which is why the Buchara pattern has long been regarded as a symbol of a peaceful, prosperous life.
The richly adorned border surrounding the field forms a symbolic protective boundary. In traditional weaving art, it was meant to guard inhabitants from external negative influences.
