Two multi-colored vodun ceremonial axes from Togo at 12 inches in height. Made in honor of the God of Thunder, Heviosso (Shango to the Yoruba). Also called Xevioso or Hebioso. The God of the sky and punishment.

The deity's followers often use rams' horns in ceremonies. The curving horns (i.e., the hair of the axes) visually represent lightning strikes. The crashing of rams' heads mimics sudden claps of thunder
