Description from the seller
Exclusive bottle rack and tilting pourer for wine designed by the renowned Scottish sculptor David Marshall, made in Spain during the 70s/80s. This iconic piece is one of the leading examples of industrial design and mid-century Spanish Brutalist art. It is about the coveted variant manufactured with the main body in sand-textured cast aluminum, giving it a rough, organic surface that is unique to each piece. The mechanical elements, the movable arms, and the upper regulator screw with butterfly key are made in solid gold brass, creating the iconic two-tone (silver and gold) contrast characteristic of the author. His ingenious tilting mechanical system allows smoothly and precisely tilting the bottle to serve the wine directly into the glass without removing it from the stand, preventing drips. A piece of artisanal engineering that functions both as a premium table accessory and as decorative abstract sculpture when empty.
Technical specifications:
Designer: David Marshall (Signed / with authenticity seal engraved in the casting).
Origin: Spain.
Materials: Cast aluminum and brass.
Approximate dimensions: 25 cm (Height) x 30 cm (Width) x 14 cm (Depth).
Weight: 1,100 grams (Lightweight variant in cast aluminum, which guarantees excellent stability on a table without the extra weight of the full bronze model).
Shipping method: Certified, fast, and insured shipment via a transport agency. It will be carefully packaged with high-density protection to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.
Condition: Good vintage condition. The tilting mechanism and the upper screw operate with total fluidity. It shows a very attractive natural patina on the metals due to the passage of time, which certifies its authenticity and gives it character (see detailed photographs to assess the real condition).
