Description from the seller
More fun on all tracks
The Märklin 2915 (often referred to as Delta 2915) is a classic H0 starter set with a German Federal Railway (DB) freight train, launched by Märklin in the 1990s (approx. 1992–1995). It was marketed as a base package for the then-new Delta multi-train system to help beginners transition from purely analogue operation to initial digital features.
Contents of the set
The starter set uses the classic AC system (3-rail) and normally includes:
Locomotive:
A tender steam locomotive of the 89 class (base model 3000), equipped with a Delta electronics module for multi-train operation.
Wagons:
3 different DB freight wagons (including an open freight car, a high-sided wagon, and a bulk goods wagon).
Accessories:
A 30 VA transformer for power supply
Various accompanying materials, papers, manuals, booklets, a colorful playbook
A track layout game with description and plastic miniature tracks.
Technical feature:
The Delta system
The locomotive has an integrated Delta decoder. Through this, the locomotive can be set to one of 15 different digital addresses. This allows this locomotive to be operated independently on the same track together with up to three other Delta locomotives, provided you use a Delta control unit (such as the Delta-Control 4f) instead of the normal transformer. The set can also be operated in the usual analogue mode with the included lighting transformer.
Attention / Caution:
The locomotive has been tested on an analogue Märklin standard transformer on K-track; the locomotive runs forward, can be switched, runs backward, and the wheel/keeper tests were positive.
Before permanent layout operation, the train should undergo service—clean wheel rims, adjust pickups, clean and oil, replace traction tires, adjust the coupler.
Photos are part of the sale — everything is detailed in the photos; the photos are part of the auction and give a good impression of the item.
