Description from the seller

A stunning and highly elegant Art Deco two-light candelabra, dating from the 1930s.

This exquisite piece is a quintessential example of the Streamline Moderne (or Machine Age) design movement, which celebrated speed, geometry, and industrial progress during the interwar period.

Design & Features
The candelabra features a captivating, dynamic S-shaped or spiral tubular chrome bar that gracefully connects the two candle nozzles at differing heights, creating a wonderful sense of movement.

True to the iconic Art Deco vocabulary, the design is accented with small, decorative chrome spheres (balls) under the candle drip pans and along the horizontal bar. The piece rests on a beautifully stepped, circular domed base providing both stability and that classic tiered Deco look. The underside reveals its authentic period construction with a weighted interior and screw-fastened assembly.

Material & Production
Made of high-quality chrome-plated metal (brass/steel). During the 1930s, chrome was the ultimate luxury material, praised for its brilliant mirror-like finish that required no polishing. This specific modernist design strongly aligns with the high-end geometric metalwork produced by renowned manufacturers of the era, such as Demeyere (Belgium, famous for their 'Chromor' line), Chase Brass & Copper Co., or Manning-Bowman (USA).
