Description from the seller

Large Art Nouveau vase – Ferdinand von Poschinger – Frauenau around 1900 – iridescent ruby glass

Exceptional Art Nouveau glass vase from the renowned Ferdinand von Poschinger manufactory (Frauenau, Bavarian Forest), produced in the heyday of European Art Nouveau around 1900–1905.

This museum-quality collectible impresses with its organic, floral form and masterful craftsmanship. The vase features a markedly outward, artfully crimped and wavy rim, reminiscent of the chalice form of a bloom.

Special features:

Color & appearance: Deep, brilliant ruby glass that flows into a strongly lustrated, metallic iridescent surface.

Depending on the light, the glass shifts into fascinating gold, green, and blue tones.

Surface texture: The upper rim shows a fine decorative crinkled texture (also known as Onion-Skin- or Stretch-Glass effect), typical of the experimental glass techniques of the era.

Manufacture: 100% handmade (mouth-blown). On the underside of the base is the characteristic abriss mark.

Height: approx. 15.5 cm
Mouth diameter: approx. 18.5 cm
