AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Stunning antique octagonal occasional table in faux-bamboo style, strongly inspired by British Colonial design and the Anglo-Japanese aesthetic movement of the late 19th century. Made from precious Huanghuali wood, but with yellow flowers, with a glossy warm finish, carved to resemble bamboo canes (faux bamboo), a highly fashionable exotic decorative motif in Europe and the United States between the Victorian era and the early 20th century. The top features a distinctive solid-wood octagonal shape with visible natural grain, while the legs are connected by geometric stretchers typical of the Chinoiserie style. At the center of the lower tripod stands a central turned element in dark wood that serves as a counterweight and structural decoration. A very rare piece, of great value and in excellent condition.
