Description from the seller
Empire-style table clock, characterized by an extremely robust and heavy antique-era structure that unites the excellence of Italian artistic fusion with the precision of German clockmaking. This splendid art object, coming from a family inheritance, boasts a Made in Italy case crafted by combining a solid base and inserts in precious green marble with deep veining to rich decorations in bronze or gilded brass. On either side of the dial rise two splendid symmetrical sculptures of finely detailed putti that support a vegetal garland. The heart of this collectible piece is a prestigious mechanical movement signed by the renowned German manufactory Franz Hermle, synonymous with the highest quality, tradition, and precision in haute horology. The white analog dial with elegant Roman numerals bears the Olympus mark and the inscription German made met. Although the exact era of manufacture is unknown, the type of materials suggests a possible dating around the 1970s/1980s. The clock is in excellent overall aesthetic condition; the only detail to note concerns the front door with the protective glass, which is slightly loose on the hinge, a minor structural nuance easily noticeable, while the rest of the case and sculptures are in perfect condition. Please note that the attached high-resolution photographs show every minute detail and are to be considered an integral and essential part of the visual description of the lot.
