Description from the seller
Antique English silver topped perfume bottle – cut crystal – Birmingham c.1900
A refined antique perfume bottle in hand-cut crystal with a solid silver mount, made in England (Birmingham), dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
The crystal body is richly cut with geometric and star motifs, reflecting light beautifully and demonstrating fine craftsmanship typical of the Victorian/Edwardian period. The bottle retains its original internal glass stopper, which is an important and desirable feature for collectors.
The silver screw cap is hallmarked with the lion passant and anchor, indicating sterling silver assayed in Birmingham. The date letter and maker’s mark are partially worn due to age and use but remain visible.
Originally intended for perfume or scented oils, this elegant piece would have been used on a dressing table or as part of a travel set.
Condition: in good antique condition with normal signs of use. The silver cap shows minor dents and light wear. The crystal is in good condition with only minimal signs of age. The interior of the cap shows natural patina from historic use.
A charming and authentic antique object, combining fine crystal cutting with English silver craftsmanship.
