Beautiful large double photo frame by Walter Scherf & Co., Isis. The frame is made of tin and then gilded. The gilding is worn here and there due to aging. The tin shows signs of light corrosion.
This large photo frame is certainly a beautiful addition to any collection of Art Nouveau objects.

The photo frame comes with both original glass plates.
On the back the frame is marked with "Isis" and the model number 675. Isis is the brand that was carried by the German manufacturer Walter Scherf & Co alongside the Osiris brand. The Isis brand was introduced in 1902.

Original Jugendstil photo frames are rare. But a double one, and also marked by a renowned manufacturer, you almost never find.

Prachtige grote dubbele fotolijst van Walter Scherf & Co, Isis. De lijst is gemaakt van tin en vervolgens verguld. Het verguldsel is hier en daar door ouderdom afgesleten. Het tin vertoond tekenen van licht corrosie.
Deze grote fotolijst is zeker een prachtige aanvulling op iedere collectie Art Nouveau objecten.

De fotolijst beschikt over de beide originele glasplaatjes.
Aan de achterzijde is de lijst gemerkt met "Isis" en het modelnummer 675. Isis is het merk dat door de Duitse fabrikant Walter Scherf & Co werd gevoerd naast het merk Osiris. Het merk Isis werd in 1902 geïntroduceerd.

Originele Jugendstil fotolijsten zijn zeldzaam. Maar een dubbele, en dan ook nog gemerkt van een gerenommeerde fabrikant, vind je bijna nooit.
