Silver solid 950 sugar jar with lid in Louis XVI style, Paris, dating from the late 19th century, signed L. Lapar S. de Beguin, weight 438 g, dimensions 15 x 14 x 12 cm, in fairly good condition with possible minor losses.

Stunning Solid Silver Covered Sugar Bowl (950) - Louis XVI Style - Maison L. LAPAR, Successor to BEGUIN - Paris, late 19th century
Description :
Elegant and heavy two-handled covered sugar bowl in solid silver dating from the late 19th century (Napoleon III / early Third Republic period).
With an undulating form and broad grooving (gadroons), it features a magnificent Louis XVI-style chiseled decoration of laurel leaf garlands suspended by knotted ribbons. The side handles are richly decorated with foliage and stylized scrolls. The removable lid is topped by a superb knob-shaped handle resembling a fruit button or exploded grenade placed on a terrace of acanthus leaves.
Parisian workmanship of high quality from a prestigious silversmith house on Rue de Choiseul.
Silversmith / Signature: Engraved in full under the base "L. LAPAR S^R DE BEGUIN PARIS" with his master silversmith mark.
Ponces (stamps): French State guarantee mark "Minerva 1er Titre" (950/1000) present on the body and on the rim of the lid.
Total weight: 438 grams (measured on an electronic scale).
Serial / inventory number: Engraved under the base "36367".
Condition: Excellent overall state of conservation. Beautiful patina from use with micro-scratches normal for its age. Dents present but no restorations to report. Interior very clean.
