The Kanyok ethnicity originates from the DRC. The Kanyok are a batu-speaking people who live mainly in the Lomami and Kasai Central provinces, in the southeast-central part of the country. They have historical and cultural ties with the Luba peoples and formed the ancient Kanyok Kingdom in the 18th century.
