Originally intended for indoors to catch flies, but the same principle as a wasp trap.
Sugary drinks were poured into the rim at the bottom and the attracted insects find their way inside through the opening at the bottom of the bottle.
Once inside the bottle they drown; flies buzz around until they give up, because they can’t find their way to escape back through the bottom opening.
In good condition (the glass cap is not original.)
