Incredible Teke sculptures from the Bantu ethnic group. They were purchased in 1963 from an antique shop and have since belonged to a private collection. They are in excellent condition.

Female - 36 x 7 x 7 cm
The Teke are from Central Africa, mainly inhabiting the Republic of Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Gabon. Historically traders ("Teke" means "to sell"), they dedicate themselves to agriculture, fishing, and hunting. They are known for their family-based social organization.
