Description from the seller
14k gold reliquary ring (585) oval-shaped under glass, adorned with Christ on the cross on a fabric background. (glass shock) Late 18th century. Gross weight 5.80 g. Ring size: 56.
Rare antique devotional ring, tested for gold, featuring a miniature crucifix under glass, mounted on a light textile background. The gilded Christ on the cross, accompanied by the titulus INRI, is carefully worked in relief within an oval, reliquary-like setting.
The back is smooth, well finished, and the ring shank shows a beautiful antique patina. The jewel has been tested with a touchstone and reacts positively to gold (estimated quality 14 carats). It is very likely a piety ring, worn by a clergyman or a devoted person in the 18th century.
Condition: Very good overall; minimal wear, intact glass capsule.
The photos are an integral part of the object descriptions and complete the presentation. They allow you to appreciate its condition and features. Please examine them carefully before any purchase.
It will be very well packed and protected to reach you quickly by tracked postal parcel.
Happy bidding!
