Set of seven wooden pieces from Italy in Neorenaissance Fiorentino style, including high-backed throne chairs and a round, extendable table, with overall good used condition and minor signs of age and stains.
Description from the seller
This set features throne chairs in a Neorenaissance style (commonly referred to in Italy as the “Florentine style”), widely produced from the late 19th century to the first half of the 20th century (with artisan handcrafted reproductions also widely spread in the 1960s and 1970s).
Main features of the style
Structure: Made of solid carved wood (usually walnut or oak) with a tall, slender backrest, typical of state and ceremonial chairs of the Renaissance.
Carved details: They feature a prominent upper crest decorated with volute motifs and geometric engravings along the vertical posts.
Upholstery: The seat and backrest are upholstered and covered with a distinctive gold-colored damask or brocade fabric with classic floral patterns.
Base: The front legs show turned elements and are connected by H-shaped crossbars to ensure structural sturdiness.
TABLE beautiful round table with Empire / Neoclassical styling, perfect for an elegant dining room or a grand living room.
The furniture piece is characterized by a majestic central pedestal finely hand-carved with volute and leaf motifs, which guarantees maximum stability without the obstruction of peripheral legs when seated. The top features a splendidly grainy wood with a glossy, mirrored finish.
Equipped with a very practical central extending mechanism that disappears (the leaves insert easily by splitting the table, as visible in the photo).
Condition of the piece: In overall excellent condition. Solid structure, opening mechanism perfectly functional, normal and minimal signs of aging that do not compromise its beauty.
Available for in-person pickup in MORTARA PV.
Shipping is at the buyer’s expense (the table is heavy and stable; I recommend coming with two people or bringing a van).
