Relic of Saint Gabriel of the Addolorata presented in a round reliquary case of silvered metal with a red textile-backed interior, with a handwritten label “S. Gabrielis”
Accompanied by its authentic original dated Rome, April 20, 1921, issued by the Congregation of the Passionists and signed by the Superior General, with a dry seal.
Saint Gabriel of the Addolorata (1838–1862) was an Italian Passionist religious, famous for his intense devotion to the Virgin of Sorrows. He died very young and quickly became a major figure of popular piety, and was canonized in 1920. He is today regarded as a model of purity and fervor for Catholic youth.
Generally good overall condition with signs of wear and patina from use.
