Description from the seller

Relic of Saint Gabriel of the Addolorata presented in a round reliquary case of silvered metal with a red textile-backed interior, with a handwritten label “S. Gabrielis”

Accompanied by its authentic original dated Rome, April 20, 1921, issued by the Congregation of the Passionists and signed by the Superior General, with a dry seal.

Saint Gabriel of the Addolorata (1838–1862) was an Italian Passionist religious, famous for his intense devotion to the Virgin of Sorrows. He died very young and quickly became a major figure of popular piety, and was canonized in 1920. He is today regarded as a model of purity and fervor for Catholic youth.

Generally good overall condition with signs of wear and patina from use.

Provenance: former private collection.

The photos are an integral part of the description of the objects and complement its presentation. They allow the condition and features to be appreciated. Please examine them carefully before any commitment.

The item will be carefully wrapped and shipped with tracking number to ensure fast and secure delivery.

In accordance with canonical law (can. 1190 §1), this sale concerns the reliquary solely as a sacred art object. The relics it contains are not the object of the transaction, but are included gratuitously for their historical and cultural value.
