Antique Art Nouveau Bronze Cinerary Urn with Lid / Decorative Vase from Bronze – France around 1910–1920
For sale is an exceptionally decorative Art Nouveau cremation urn with lid, made of bronze or bronze-plated cast metal, presumably of French origin and dating to around 1910–1920.
The artistically designed object captivates with its detailed craftsmanship, featuring plastic grapevines, oaks leaves and acorns, as well as two striking ring handles shaped as expressive animal heads. The combination of nature-inspired ornamentation and symbolic elements is typical of French Art Nouveau at the turn of the century.
The urn rests on a richly adorned stand and is highly representative both as a solitary piece and in a collection of historical art and decor objects.
