Late Qing / Republic Period - 19th/20th century
• Type: Blue and White (Sometsuke) Porcelain Plate.
• Decoration: Hand-painted with a central stylized floral medallion surrounded by a rhythmic "scroll and leaf" or "abstract cloud" border. The underside features simple, rapid brushstrokes typical of provincial export wares.
• Style: Often referred to as "Kitchen Ming" (Minyao), these were robust wares made for the Southeast Asian market (Straits Chinese/Peranakan). The free-hand, "sketchy" cobalt blue painting is highly valued for its folk-art energy.
• Bottom/Foot: Unglazed, gritty base with visible iron spots and kiln firing marks, characteristic of provincial kilns (likely South China/Fujian area).
