Crest mask - Senufo - Wood - Mali - 50 cm.

Zoomorphic crest mask with very angular forms.
A large open jaw showing its teeth.
The eyes are globular, with large pointed ears and a long, sharp nose.
Around the base there is a fabric ruffle and at the top a stylized animal.
This type of mask was used in initiation ceremonies.
Good condition.

Masque cimier - Senoufo - Bois - Mali - 50 cm.

Masque cimier zoomorphe aux formes trés angulaires.
Grande mâchoire ouverte montrant les dents.
Les yeux sont globuleux, de grandes oreilles pointues et un long nez acéré.
Autour de  la base figure un bourellé de tissu et au sommet un animal stylisé.
Ce genre de masque participait à des cérémonies d'initiation.
