AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Dutch Art Deco Amsterdam School style pedestal in oak, 1920s

A striking Dutch Art Deco pedestal in oak, dating from the 1920s and marked underneath with the date.

This is a wonderfully eye-catching little architectural object: tall, vertical and full of rhythm. The design is built from four slender upright supports between a solid lower and upper block, giving the pedestal a strong presence. The small arched feet, stepped top and layered construction add just enough ornament without disturbing the sober geometry.

It is a one-of-a-kind piece, well designed and well made, with the kind of expressive but functional character that makes Dutch interwar furniture so appealing. Perfect as a pedestal for a small sculpture, ceramic object, vase or Art Deco glass piece. An accent piece that will work beautifully in different interior styles.

The pedestal stands stable and sturdy.

Condition
Good vintage condition with small traces of age and use. The oak has a warm patina, with small marks and wear consistent with its age. Marked underneath with the date.

Height: 79 cm / 31.10 in
