Jean-Daniel Lorieux is one of the most famous French fashion photographers of the 20th century. He was born in 1937 in Paris into a family of industrialists. Fleeing the rigor of Jesuit education, he sought refuge in theater and attended René Simon's drama classes.

However, his dreams of cinema were thwarted by the Algerian War. Indeed, he was mobilized on site as a photographer during his military service. He photographed the horrors of the war. That period marked him, giving rise to the will to make joyful photographs, full of sunshine and love. He would achieve it.

Lorieux's style: sensuality, a dose of provocation and a zest of chic.

He managed to impose his style, through idyllic photographs, always unexpected, blending erotism and happiness. The joyful sensuality radiating from his work is mixed with provocative humor. His colorful photographs elevate his exceptional models. From top models like Claudia Schiffer or Stephanie Seymour, to actresses like Sharon Stone, and even singers like Frank Sinatra, all have passed before his lens.

Coconuts remains a benchmark among the masters of sensual photography.
