Paillard C8SL 8mm film camera, serial 786040, mechanically functional with a working wind motor and Compumatic light meter, featuring a French SOM Berthiot Trix Focus 12.5mm f/1.9 lens and original 1960s documentation, supplied with a period rigid carrying case.
Description from the seller
8mm Paillard Bolex C8 SL analog cine camera batch manufactured in Switzerland. The mechanical wind-up motor operates with full fluidity and the upper light-meter system “Compumatic” is mechanically functional (the needle slightly reacts to light changes). The batch’s great value lies in its excellent original French SOM Berthiot Trix Focus 12.5mm f/1.9 lens and in its valuable original period documentation from the French market: official warranty booklet (“Bulletin de Garantie”) with serial number 786040, handwritten and stamped on April 11, 1960 at the Photo-Ciné Studio-Ernest store in Mont-de-Marsan, together with the original instruction manual (“Mode d'Emploi”). An era-appropriate rigid carrying case is included (not original to the brand), which shows the cracked strap and a partially popped zipper. Ideal lot for restorers, collectors of historic documents, or filmmakers seeking the French lens.
Weight (in kg): 1.2 kg (total weight of the set including the camera, paper documents, and carrying case).
Dimensions (in cm): The camera measures 13 cm high x 8 cm wide x 5 cm deep. The vintage case measures 16 cm long x 16 cm high x 8 cm wide.
Material: Camera body made of duralumin with chrome finishes and textured leather covering. Mineral glass and metal optics. Original 1960 paper and cardboard printed documents. Exterior rigid leather case worn and distressed.
Color: Camera in black and silver (polished aluminum). Case in dark brown.
Shipping method: Registered shipping with tracking number
