The piece features a rich floral and vegetal marquetry decoration executed with precious wood veneers in warm mahogany and satinwood tones, creating a striking color contrast with a dramatic visual effect.
The fall-front reveals a practical internal writing compartment equipped with four side drawers and a large central cavity, ideal for documents and writing objects. The writing surface preserves the same refined decorative motifs found on the exterior, providing aesthetic continuity and artisanal value to the entire structure.
The slender, trunk-like pyramidal legs, finely inlaid, faithfully echo the neoclassical Louis XVI taste, lending lightness and elegance to the whole. The piece is completed by the original lock with its period key.
