Description from the seller

GENERAL:

We offer for sale a rare 1968 Lancia Flavia 1800 second series "819" with carburetor and steering-wheel gearshift, in the 1800 engine configuration. This is a particularly historically valuable example thanks to the highly sought-after mechanical combination: 1800 engine paired with carburetor fueling and steering-column gearshift, a configuration produced in only 4,334 units. This car represents the essence of the last true classic Lancia, characterized by timeless elegance and a fascinating color combination between exterior and interior.

BODYWORK AND PAINT:

The bodywork is generally in very good condition. It has undergone partial repainting focused exclusively on the areas with the most wear, while the rest retains the original paint. This conservative choice has helped preserve the patina typical of “preserved” cars, a valued asset appreciated by purists who want an authentic vehicle.

TECHNICAL:

The car has recently been started after many years of inactivity through a series of significant mechanical interventions. In addition to a routine service, work was done on the fuel system, including carburetor overhaul, fuel tank regeneration, and replacement of the pump and fuel filters. The braking system has been completely overhauled, including calipers, pump, and brake booster, while the exhaust has been renewed with the replacement of the central silencer, rear section, and their mounts. Steering components have also been checked. The car is running, however, given the long period of inactivity, a break-in period is recommended after which further minor technical adjustments may be necessary.

INTERIOR:

The interiors are fully original and offer an incredible testimony to the vehicle’s history. A detail of exceptional value is the door panels, where the factory protective cellophane is still present. The cabin preserves the understated luxury and the quality of materials typical of Lancia production of the era, maintaining excellent preservation.

DOCUMENTATION:

The car’s history is clear, having been purchased by the first and only owner born in 1907. The odometer shows about 78,000 km, which are presumed to be true. The car was deregistered in 1989 and currently has no documents, but it retains its prestigious original black plates. For re-registration in Italy, it will be necessary to follow the ASI administrative procedure for issuing a new registration document and the subsequent ministerial inspection.

PICK-UP:

The vehicle is being sold as is and pickup is at the buyer’s expense. For export, please note that the car is already deregistered from the Public Registry but is delivered without a valid inspection. Foreign buyers are advised to check in advance with the authorities of their country about the procedures for registering as a historic vehicle.

OTHER INFORMATION:

This Lancia Flavia 1800 is a mechanical rarity that combines the pleasure of boxer-style driving with the refinement of the steering-wheel gearshift. It represents an unmissable opportunity for those seeking a highly preserved example, characterized by a documented history and a production rarity that ensures its value over time.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
