Description from the seller
Overview/Conditions
Rarissima Triumph 2500 PI MK2 Saloon from 1975, the last “Facelift” model produced in only 2,153 units, this is number 1867. 6-cylinder 2500cc engine with Lucas mechanical injection like the one mounted on Triumph TR5 and TR6 models.
At the time it was one of the most performing four-door sport sedans, with a very modern and elegant silhouette designed by the master Giovanni Michelotti. The final produced units, in addition to some mechanical improvements, had a different grille and other modified details, hence the name “Facelift.”
This specimen was sold on January 9, 1975 to the Italian importer Leyland Innocenti Spa, Dr. Bepi Koelliker, and used by him as his personal car.
Color Delft Blue with blue velour interior, equipped with Sundym laminated glass, power steering, reinforced rear suspension springs, Dunlop SP68 tires, Borg-Wauer automatic transmission, European lights, odometer, heating.
The car was later sold to a friend of Dr. Koelliker residing in Brescia, who kept it for many years in perfect condition. The history of this car is extensively documented in the article spanning several pages published in Ruoteclassiche, May 2024 issue. The rare Italian user and maintenance manual is also present, along with the double keys, the certificate from the British Motor Heritage Trust confirming interior and exterior colors and accessories, the original brochures of the period, other articles appearing in magazines, and several invoices for recent works carried out.
Also included are some spare parts, including a new fuel injection pump valued at £350.
The car presents itself in truly excellent condition both in paintwork and interior and mechanically. It has no rust of any kind, not even under the floor, having always been kept indoors. It is fully functional.
It has undergone many restoration works including a full service, differential overhaul, replacement of bushings and steering joints, replacement of front pads and rear shoes, replacement of all brake lines and radiator hose couplings including the thermostat, radiator overhaul, and recent replacement of all tires with costly Michelin XAS.
A list of all works performed is available, valued at approximately €6,500.
The car is registered and enrolled with the English club dedicated to these cars. A truly unique vehicle for a Triumph enthusiast and collector, guaranteed to draw attention for its rarity at rallies, indeed one is unlikely to see another!
The car is located in Missaglia, province of Lecco, Italy and can be collected on-site; the seller can optionally arrange shipment, and all related costs, such as transfer of ownership or deregistration in case of export, will be borne by the buyer.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
