French fascicle Petit XX 19 August 1937, published in 1937, in nearly mint condition, one issue, with a Hergé cover featuring Three Men on the Sea and the illustration known as 'L'oreille Cassée', noting the last panel of the Tintin double-page was removed at the request of the editor to replace it with a less Heaven- or Devil‑referencing scene.
Description from the seller
Thursday, February 18, 1937 issue with a very well-known illustration of “L'oreille Cassée.”
With a cover by Hergé featuring “Trois hommes à la Mer.”
Note that the last panel of the Tintin double-page has been removed at the request of Jacques Cœur, publisher of Cœurs Vaillants, so that Hergé could replace it with a scene that makes less reference to Hell and the devils… “Dieu ait leur âme ! …”
The issue sought after by many collectors for this curiosity across the two publications between Belgium and France at the time, in 1937.
