Description from the seller
In the postwar period, the reconstruction of the Monza Autodrome and the organization of the first Grand Prixes (such as the spectacular race won by Braga in October 1948) required a massive managerial effort. Official drivers like Umberto Braga used to honor the organizing committee members, the sporting stewards of the F.M.I. (Federazione Motociclistica Italiana) or the track’s technical authorities with autographed, dedicated photographic prints. The "Sig. Kirchner" was most likely a prominent figure in this administrative circle or an influential official timekeeper of the event.
The signature corresponds to Umberto Braga, a Mantuan driver and a key figure in Moto Parilla’s very first sporting feats. The correct date shown at the bottom left is, in fact, October 23, 1948, the day on which a legendary race for Italian motorcycling took place. Moto Parilla +1 The photograph captures exactly a moment of that triumph: Braga took the lead on the fourth lap and dominated the race for 32 consecutive laps, winning the 1948 Monza Grand Prix at an extraordinary average speed of 135.17 km/h. Moto Parilla.
