This large ruby crystal (corundum) comes from Mauritania, (Tiris Zemmour region) about 100 km from the town of Zouérate.
I found this ruby during research and surveying in the Mauritanian desert
I am presenting it as I found it; I have not done any heat or chemical treatment, just cleaned it with soapy water.
All photos were taken in natural daylight.
For some of them I placed the ruby on the lit flashlight of my mobile phone
In order to show the strong fluorescence response characteristic of corundums (rubies and sapphires) under ultraviolet illumination, I also illuminated this ruby with a small lamp that emits ultraviolet light.
I photographed this gem as honestly and precisely as possible using daylight.
Please note that differences in screen settings and ambient lighting can lead to variations in perceived color, saturation, and tone.
The ruby you will receive is, of course, the one shown in the photos.
