Olivetti Lettera 32 portable typewriter, designed by Marcello Nizzoli and made in Italy, metal construction, vintage style, dating from 1960–1970, in very good used condition with minor signs of wear and stains, dimensions 32 cm wide by 37 cm deep by 10 cm high, weight 5.2 kg, in working order.
Description from the seller
The Lettera 32 is a portable typewriter produced by Olivetti and marketed starting in 1963. Designed by engineer Adriano Menicanti, with a body by architect and designer Marcello Nizzoli, it was conceived as the successor to the Lettera 22. It became very popular among journalists and achieved great commercial success worldwide.
With a base dimension of 35 cm by 34 cm in depth and a height of about 10 cm (about 12 cm with the line-spacing lever in the working position), by the standards of the time it was quite suitable for transport, and even the weight (a little over 5 kg) was practical in that sense. It was produced in Italy in Ivrea, in Mexico, and in Yugoslavia.
Famous users: Indro Montanelli, Oriana Fallaci, Angela Giussani, Cormac McCarthy.
Period 1963/64.
The machine is in very good condition, both aesthetically and functionally. The semi-rigid case is in good overall exterior condition, but the interior shows numerous stains (perhaps rust).
Please study the photos carefully, which complete the description.
Shipped insured via Courier.
