Rare pair of fuchsia silk Chinese hangings with delicate embroidery.

This pair of hangings dates from the late 19th century.

The designs depict an aquatic landscape with lotus flowers in full bloom, reeds and cranes, motifs highly symbolic in traditional Chinese art.

The crane evokes longevity and wisdom.

The embroidery work displays a fine execution and subtle color gradients.

These panels were intended to adorn the aristocratic interiors of China in the 19th century.

Despite some wear, they are in good condition.

They measure 48 × 58 cm

Rare paire de tentures chinoises en soie fuchsia avec de délicates broderie. 

Cette paire de tenture date de la fin du XIX eme siècle. 

Les compositions représentent un paysage aquatique avec fleurs de lotus en pleine floraison, roseaux et grues, motifs hautement symbolique dans l'art chinois traditionnel. 

La grue évoque la longévité et la sagesse. 

Le travail de broderie présente une belle finesse d'exécution et de subtils dégradés de couleurs. 

Ces panneaux étaient destinés aux ornements des intérieurs aristocratique de Chine au XIX eme siècle. 

Malgré quelques usures ils sont en bon état.
