Description from the seller
Six antique towels, two are different and two pairs are identical. All crafted and finished by hand.
They have been washed and refreshed in the past, but have not been used. They present a few small luggage-stain marks and two or three small specks. They are all in excellent condition.
The first one in the photos is made of a substantial linen, medium weight, color ivory white. Very richly embroidered and with fringes on both edges. There are two initials, as was customary in the old days. It has a small unraveling of the embroidery and a small stain. Both flaws are shown in the photo and are of little importance. It measures 130x70 cm.
Next in the photos is a towel of thick hemp, well preserved. The color is beige, the weave creates a ribbed effect. It has fringes on both edges. It has a pulled thread, typical of hand weaving, and a small stain in one corner. See photo. It measures 130x67 cm.
The following photos show two towels that are identical to each other and very similar to the previous one: same size, same type, same fabric. They vary only slightly in color, which is a lighter beige, and in the knotting of the fringe. In one of the towels there is a pulled thread, as in the photo.
The last two pieces photographed are identical, in light yet compact white linen, with delicate and elegant embroidery and hand-finished details. They measure 100x70 and show no defects.
