La Locomotion Automobile is a magazine, presented here as two 1898 issues (numbers 18 and 23) in very good condition.
Description from the seller
I propose 2 issues of the magazine "La Locomotion Automobile" from the year 1898.
"La Locomotion automobile" has the peculiarity of being the world's first magazine dedicated to the automobile. Its publication, initially monthly, indeed began in December 1894. It quickly became bi-monthly, then weekly. It will disappear in December 1909.
Not necessary to point out that the issues published in the 19th century are perfectly unobtainable.
1/ Issue 18 of May 5, 1898 offers on the cover the photo of a new marque "La Compagnie Générale des Automobiles" to which it devotes several illustrated pages, but you also find in the table of contents the motorcycle criterium, the Marseille-Aix-en-Provence-Salon-Marseille race, the Périgueux race, the fiacre concours with 25 cars entered, including petrol and electric, of which 5 Panhard & Levassor and 1 Peugeot petrol, and 4 Krieger and 6 Jeantaud electric, the last page is devoted to the list of Automobile Car manufacturers and coachbuilders (54 petrol cars, 7 steam cars and 3 electric cars, as well as 10 coachbuilders).
2/ Issue 23 of June 9, 1898 with on the cover the Roser omnibus and treating the Bruxelles-Ardennes-Spa race, the Nantes motorcycle race, the upcoming Paris-Amsterdam race, the Bordeaux-Agen race, the presentation of the Morris and Salom electric car, the Liverpool heavy vehicles competition, the results of the Fiacre contest which extended over 10 days and saw the victory of the electric coupé Krieger, the Turin automobile exhibition and, on the last page, the list of automobile car manufacturers and coachbuilders."
