AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Small bronze cattle bell or sheep bell, with an interior iron clapper that preserves a clear and functional sound.
Small pastoral bell in bronze, with original iron clapper. It presents a wear and use patina coherent with its age.

Due to its shape, rectangular handle type, and wear from use, it is an authentic rural piece traditionally used in sheep or goat farming for locating them.
It presents a very attractive natural patina, marks and signs of the passage of time and of exposure to the elements, coherent with its age and that reinforce its character and authenticity.
It is in generally good structural condition, with no breaks.

The back of the bell has a small hole, which, considering its use and age, very likely was for making an acoustic adjustment. A documented practice in traditional bells, to change the vibration of the metal helping the shepherd to recognize specific animals by ear.

Perfect both for rustic decoration and for an ethnographic collection...
